We and our consultants have completed formal comparative studies of utility costs, lighting power budgets, and Energy Conservation Reports. These reports have been used to select fuel and energy types, equipment for space and domestic water heating, cooking and lighting, and location and thickness of thermal insulation.
   Recently on the Wintonia Hotel, an unbudgeted $20,000 heat exchanger was added to the ventilation system. Despite the tight budget, it was included because of a short 2-3 year payback; the annual savings could support the non-profit owners' meal program.
